How to revamp your closet on a budget!
Looking to revamp your closet for this fall season? Looking to change up your style? Check out these tips and discounts that you can take advantage of this autumn and discover new pieces you’ll love!
1. Get Inspired
If you are looking to discover a new style, browse online websites, Pinterest clothing combos, and look for specific pieces that you know that you will love before you go to the store. When you go shopping, have that specific goal in mind – you are more likely to be successful!
2. Thrifting!
Who doesn’t love getting cheap pieces that look amazing? There are so many hidden gems in thrift stores for you to discover. One of my favourite fall clothing tactics is to b-line straight to the men’s sweaters section – you can get some super comfy, cute, and oversized sweaters that you can never find in the women’s section. Another tip is to look through everything on the rack – a lot of people tend to put pieces in different locations so it is easier to find when they return to the store but they make it easier for you to find those standout pieces.
3. Buy versatile pieces
Buy a sweater that looks good with any kind of pants – jeans, leggings, khakis, anything it might be!
Buy simple t-shirts or thin long sleeves that you could easily pair with any jacket!
4. Don’t be afraid to DIY your current pieces
Let’s say you have a pair of really basic shorts that you do not love to wear anymore – you can add some distress details, try a Tik Tok bleach trend, or add a new fabric piece to it. If you have a basic white sweater and inspiration in mind for a Raptors-themed sweater that you love to have – buy some printer paper and make it yourself! There are so many ways to revamp what you already own, so go try them out!
5. Look for deals & Shop Sales
Fall items come in in July and August, wintery items come in in late September, spring clothes come out in February – just before these times, stores tend to have sales to get rid of last season’s clothes.
On top of these sales, it is important to look for any type of discount for different stores. The ISIC card provides benefits and discounts that full-time students can take advantage of. For example, you can get 15% off your first online order at Garage Clothing, 15% off at Dynamite Clothing, 20% all items at Addition Elle, 20% off online purchases at Reitmans, 15% off at RW&CO, and 40% off Myprotein activewear.
When you go shopping, have that specific goal in mind – you are more likely to be successful!
