Updating your wardrobe doesn’t have to be hard
With the warmer weather coming our way, this is a good time to review our wardrobes and update them, especially if you haven’t looked through what items you have in your wardrobe in a long time. So, where do you begin? Here are 3 simple ways to update your wardrobe!
1. Reassess your wardrobe
To understand what items you have in your wardrobe, you’ll need to spend some time looking through each item in your wardrobe. Pick a day or two to reassess your wardrobe and grab either a pen and paper (or your phone) and start listing down the clothes you have. Take note of clothes you use often and those you don’t. Also take note of clothes you haven’t used in years, if there are any.
2. Utilize Pinterest to discover your current style
Pinterest, if you haven’t heard of it is a visual search engine for finding ideas for your interests and hobbies. For example one of the popular reasons people use Pinterest is to find new recipes.
To discover your current style and help update your wardrobe, spend some time looking through the numerous fashion results that show up on Pinterest. For example, if you find yourself loving Italian fashion, you can search this up on Pinterest and pins with that name will pop up. When you find a pin with the style you like, you can click on it and save it to a board that you can view on your profile. On that same pin you clicked on, you’ll also find similar pins when you scroll down, which is another great thing about Pinterest.
3. Buy new clothes overtime and donate/sell the ones you no longer need
After you reassess your wardrobe and utilize Pinterest, make a list and write down the clothes you need to buy and have in your wardrobe. Make another list of items in your wardrobe that you no longer need and want to give away or sell.
When you’re ready to buy new clothes, go ahead and shop for them, however, if you want to make sure you’ll be happy with the pieces you buy in the long run, it’s good practice to buy new clothes overtime instead of buying it all in one go.
Updating your wardrobe, whether it’s for a certain season or for a new phase in your life doesn’t have to be a hard thing to do especially once you reassess your wardrobe, discover your current style and know what clothes you need in your wardrobe.
